Hardy type derivations
on generalised series fields
Abstract:
Generalised series fields are universal domains for valued
fields. We show how to endow them with series derivations, i.e.
derivations which commute with infinite products and sums. Moreover, we
characterize when such derivations verify valuative properties of Hardy
type: (an algebraic version of) l'Hospital's rule, compatibility
between valuation and logarithmic derivation. Our results are
illustrated by general examples. Finally, we discuss the questions of
asymptotic integration and integration.
