PDE Constrained Optimization Utilizing Reduced-Order Modeling

Time und venue: September 17, 15:45-17:00, TU München in Garching, Leibniz-Rechenzentrum, Room H.E.009

Procedure: There will be supervised theoretical and programming exercises.

Homepage of the event: SummerSchool2013

Content: In this tutorial, the central topics of the lecture concerning optimal control of evolution equations and model order reduction via proper orthogonal decomposition shall be illustrated. The first part deals with the approximation qualities of POD solutions; in the second part, this technique is applied to solve an optimization problem governed by a PDE.
