The Kirchhoff equation for the p-Laplacian

Abstract.
Employing ideas from the theory of weakly hyperbolic differential equations, we show
the local well-posedness of the Kirchhoff equation for the p-Laplacian in Sobolev spaces,
where p need not be an even integer.
