We describe a simple method to extend the paper "C. Gerhardt: Closed hypersurfaces of prescribed mean curvature in locally conformally flat Riemannian manifolds, J. Diff. Geom. 48 (1998), 587-613" to hypersurfaces in manifolds of dimension eight.
